California man arrested for allegedly pushing burning car into ravine sparking ongoing, massive blaze

A California man is accused of pushing a burning car into a ravine starting the ongoing Park Fire that has already burned over 120,000 acres.

Ronnie Dean Stout II, 42, was spotted pushing the car into a gully in Bidwell Park while it was on fire just before 3 p.m. Wednesday.

  • “The car went down an embankment approximately 60 feet and burned completely, spreading flames that caused the Park Fire,” Butte County District Attorney Michael L. Ramsey said.

    The Park Fire, currently California’s largest active wildfire, is only 3 percent contained after it spread to more than 120,000 acres by Thursday evening.
