A New York City woman was beaten to death outside her Queens home by a handyman she had hired during an argument over $300, the NYPD said.
The incident took place Thursday evening when officers rushed to the 103rd Avenue and 105th Street in Ozone Park.
The body of Julier Kashidas-Singh, 64, was beaten and strangled on the steps of her home. 40-year-old Francisco Sevilla was arrested early Friday in connection to the slaying.
Police said Singh ran a landscaping business and Sevilla believed he was owed the $300 as part of his work for Singh.
“He was a handyman. He was the last person you’d ever think would do something like that. He’s a sweetheart of a guy. Planting flowers for the landlord, shoveling, and all that,” his neighbor said.
The victim was also described as a “very kind and loving lady.”
“This is really scary to have something like this happen. It’s really scary man, she was a good lady. I never seen anything bad going one,” a neighbor said.
