A Trenton, New Jersey man has allegedly admitted to his involvement in the death of his girlfriend last month.
Rahim Johnson, 43, claimed that 26-year-old Victoria Lee cut him with a knife when he attempted to stop her but couldn’t remember how because he was “out of it”.
The incident occurred on Jan. 24. Lee was reportedly strangled with an electrical cord and her body was hidden under a bed until it was found by police on Feb. 25.
Johnson, who reportedly told police he was unsure if he had “something to do with it or not”, admitted to hiding the body and stealing the victim’s phone.
He then sent Lee’s father several text messages requesting money through Zelle and Cash App accounts.
Banking apps on Lee’s phone showed transactions made in Trenton after her death and up until the day her body was found.
Johnson was charged with murder, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
