Riverside news, Missouri news.

A Missouri man accused of killing a woman and a boy, injuring another woman and abducting a girl was fatally shot by officers Friday morning following a night of terror.

George Manning, 43, first shot and killed a woman in the parking lot of a Riverside car wash and stole her car.

He then drove to a home where he shot and killed a boy and injured the boy’s mother before taking off with a 5-year-old girl.

An Amber Alert was issued for the missing girl until about midnight, when police in Kansas City responded to an assault and shots fired at a bar.

  • The suspect matched Manning’s description but had fled the scene on foot by the time officers arrived. He was then involved in a carjacking just blocks away from the bar.

Police tracked Manning down to Platte County where he was shot dead by officers just after 7:30 a.m.

“I was just working, doing my thing this morning and all of a sudden I heard like 50 shots go off,” a witness said.

“So I ran outside and saw guns ablaze. They got some dude down on the ground and it looked like they got him. It was crazy.”

The abducted girl was safely returned to her family. Police believe the slain woman and the other victims were unrelated.
