A North Carolina man allegedly confessed to a murder in a chilling 911 call on Feb. 19, police said.
Travis Huff, 40, told dispatchers that he “choked” his girlfriend of two years, Rebecca Carter, before stabbing the 41-year-old twice in the chest.
The crime unfolded at the CubeSmart apartment of Carter, who was a manager at the storage facility and lived in an apartment connected to the business.
Huff allegedly told police “I killed her” after he “lost control” during a fight that started at a bar before turning violent.
After killing Carter, Huff told detectives he invited a friend and smoked crack cocaine next to her body with the knife still sticking out of her chest.
Huff was arrested at the scene on murder charges. His next court appearance is slated for March 12.
