A Florida man is behind bars after he allegedly choked his teen girlfriend to death during an argument and then dumped her body in the backyard.
Dominique Domond faces second-degree murder charges in connection to the Monday death of 17-year-old Janise Barthold.
Miami-Dade County Sheriff’s deputies responded to Domond’s home about an unresponsive woman and met with his mother who led them to the body.
The mother said Domond told her Barthold and another man attacked him and that he strangled her and fought off the man.
After his arrest, Domond admitted that he choked Barthold during an argument and that there were no other people with them.
“She didn’t deserve this at all,” Barthold’s brother said. “She was a beautiful young girl. This is just tragic.”
“He shouldn’t have gone that far with domestic violence. It didn’t have to go like that. I’m so sorry for all of this. I don’t even know how to say I’m sorry to myself for letting her down.”
