A pedestrian was hit and killed by a train in the Magnolia area early Sunday, Texas authorities said.
The tragic accident occurred along FM 1774 near Hazy Hollow Lane in Montgomery County. It was first reported at 9:18 a.m.

The crash is being investigated by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office’s homicide and violent crimes unit and federal railroad officials.
“Please avoid the area and use alternate routes. Updates will be provided as more information becomes available,” the sheriff’s office said.
