A teen suspect arrested for a stabbing Friday was linked to a fatal crash that claimed the life of an 11-year-old girl earlier this week.
Golden Valley Police officers arrested the 18-year-old after he stabbed another while they were in a truck, leading to a crash.
Investigators said both men had taken an illegal substance before the incident. After the crash, the teen ran from police and tried to break into several homes.
Police later determined that the arrested teen has been involved in a Wednesday crash that killed 11-year-old Lilyana Loycano in Independence.
The suspect allegedly blew through a stop sign and crashed into Loycano’s family SUV.
The girl’s parents and three brothers suffered injuries in the crash.
