Deceased man found in submerged car as heavy rain inundates North Texas

A deceased man was found inside a submerged car in a Forth Worth pond early Thursday as severe weather hit North Texas, authorities said.

The elderly man’s submerged silver car was spotted in a Rivercrest Country Club pond at around 8 a.m., officials said.

  • Divers responded to the scene and pulled out the deceased man. Investigators suspect that heavy rainfall caused the driver to crash or that floods swept his car overnight.

    Total rainfall reached 5 inches in some areas late Wednesday through Thursday morning causing significant floods and high water levels across the Fort Worth-Dallas region.
