A 7-year-old girl has died days after she was found unresponsive in an indoor pool at a St. Louis hotel.
The child was found in the swimming pool by staff at the Element Hotel in the Midtown neighborhood at around 8:30 p.m. Saturday.

Officers responded to the hotel on Forest Park Avenue and took the child to the hospital where she was listed in critical condition.
In an update Tuesday, the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department announced the girl’s death.
The death is being investigated as an “accident injury” by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department’s Child Abuse.
