Authorities in Maine have arrested a woman on murder charges after she allegedly contacted police in connection to the death of a 14-year-old.
39-year-old Megan McDonald arrived at the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office to report an incident at her Sidney home at 5:27 a.m. Friday.
Police responded to the home to conduct a welfare check and found the body of a slain 14-year-old boy outside the house.
The Augusta Chief Medical Examiner’s Office determined the teen died from a combination of asphyxiation, manual strangulation, and sharp force injury.
McDonald was arrested at 1:45 p.m.. on murder charges. She is being held at the Kennebec Correctional Facility.
Her relationship with the victim remains unclear.
