A couple and their two young children were found dead inside a luxury Silicon Valley apartment late Tuesday in what authorities called a murder-suicide.
Relatives of the victims called 911 seeking a welfare check after they couldn’t reach them for a few days.
Officers found the four victims inside a Milpitas unit at around 9 p.m. Tuesday. They later identified them as Vinh Nguyen and Betty Pham, both 36, and their children aged 9 and 4.
Investigators believe Vinh Nguyen carried out the murder-suicide last Saturday. All victims died of single gunshot wounds.
Police said there were no prior calls to the apartment. Neighbors described the area as pretty quiet.
“Not knowing any information, it’s concerning,” one said. “Gotta appreciate everyone and make sure you stay safe in your own home. It’s sad to think something like that happened so close. It breaks my heart.”
