Police seek public’s help in identifying dead woman found on grounds of Vanderbilt Mansion

Authorities in New York City are seeking the public’s help as they work to identify a deceased woman found on the grounds of New York’s Vanderbilt Mansion earlier this month.

The woman’s body was discovered on Vanderbilt Park Road on the historical mansion’s grounds on Dec. 6.

A hiker found the body “lying face down near the east shore of the Hudson River south of Bard Rock” roughly 100 miles north of New York City.

  • The woman, believed to be in her 50s or 60s, was described as white, standing 5 foot 5 tall, weighing 112 pounds with brown eyes and gray hair.

    Her body had no scars, tattoos, or marks. Investigators ruled her death suspicious.

    Police released a picture of the decedent in the hopes someone would recognize and help identify her.
