Washington DC news, Washington news.

President Joe Biden and President-elect Donald Trump met Wednesday at the Oval Office for the first post-election get-together.

“You know, it’s been a long, it’s been a long slog. It’s been a lot of work on both sides and he did a very good job with respect to campaigning and everything else. We really had a really good meeting,” Trump said of Biden.

“We got to know each other again.”

The POTUS welcomed Trump and congratulated him for his historic election victory as the two men shook hands.

“Politics is tough, and it’s, in many cases, not a very nice world, but it is a nice world today, and I appreciate it very much,” Trump said.

The two presidents are likely to meet again before Inauguration Day, as hinted by Trump.

“The Oval Office is so beautiful and I do certainly look forward [to coming back].”
