A Missouri man turned himself in to police admitting to “accidentally” killing his elderly father, stabbing him 50 times.
Jeffrey Goedde, 41, told Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies he had “made a mistake” and wanted to surrender to them rather than Manchester Police because he trusted the sheriff’s office more.
After he was handed over to Manchester Police, Goedde confessed to striking his father with his hands but couldn’t recall if he used a knife in the deadly attack.
Officers found Edward Goedde, 75, with blunt force trauma injuries to the face, head, and back in addition to 50 stab wounds and broken bones. The victim was also strangled.
A kitchen knife was recovered from a trash can and officers noted a strong odor of bleach inside the home.
Goedde, who claimed he “accidentally killed someone”, was charged with murder and armed criminal action.
