Fort Worth news, Texas news.

A Texas teen was charged with murder after he mistakenly shot his uncle while both fired at a targeted car earlier this month.

The incident unfolded on Dec. 1 when Derrick Sanders Jr., 19, and Christopher Sanders Sr., 40, were both at a Dodge Charger with four other occupants following a Chrysler 300 and firing shots at its occupants.

Investigators said Derrick was hanging out of the rear driver’s side window and firing shots over the top of the car when he struck his uncle who was in the front passenger seat.

The bullet was fired at a downward angle, pierced through the roof of the Dodge hitting Sanders’ head.
