Trump appoints Musk, Ramaswamy to lead new Department of Government Efficiency

President-elect Donald Trump announced Tuesday that he will create the Department of Government Efficiency and named Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy to lead the new department.

Trump said in a post on Truth Social that the DOGE “will pave the way for my Administration to dismantle Government Bureaucracy, slash excess regulations, cut wasteful expenditures, and restructure Federal Agencies,”

    Trump explained that the new department would not be a federal agency but would offer guidance “outside of government” through a partnership with the White House and Office of Management and Budget “to drive large-scale structural reform, and create an entrepreneurial approach to Government never seen before.”
