The adoptive parents of a 10-year-old California boy were arrested and charged with murder and torture after his tragic death earlier this week.
Riverside County authorities arrested 51-year-old Alejandra Marin, and 59-year-old Juan Sanchez Moreno and charged them with murder, torture, and child abuse in connection to the boy’s death.
The victim was brought to a Moreno Valley hospital Thursday “in medical distress”. He died hours later.
Investigators observed “signs of possible neglect and abuse” on the child, but an official cause of death remains undetermined.
“The deputy’s initial investigation revealed signs of possible neglect and abuse,” the sheriff’s office said.
“The Riverside Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit was requested to the scene and assumed the investigation.”
