A Louisiana couple is behind bars after the death of a 4-year-old girl from brutal abuse.
Athena Rose Denise Miller was brought to a Leesville hospital on Nov. 6 with “a bilateral brain bleed, a broken humerus, and a left clavicle break.”
“In addition, she had bruising over much of body, and burns on her face, chin, and neck. The girl died the next day.”
Athena’s cause of death was determined as “cardiopulmonary arrest, intracranial bilateral hemorrhaging, and non-accidental injuries from child abuse.”
Her father, 24 year-old Logan Miller, and his 48-year-old girlfriend Terrie Gray, were charged with first-degree murder and cruelty to a juvenile.
“She was a very loving child. She had the purest heart. She loved everybody,” the victim’s mother said.
Athena’s 2-year-old brother was also a victim of physical abuse, authorities said.
