A Florida mom is facing charges while still in the hospital for allegedly setting herself and her two sons on fire last summer, killing an infant.
Esther Thelus, 26, bought gasoline from a 7-Eleven on Aug. 26 with deadly intentions after the father of her 2-year-old son refused to keep the child, asking for a DNA test.
The mother of two wanted to leave her toddler with his father and move to Fort Lauderdale with her infant son but changed her mind after the “humiliating” encounter, her roommate claimed.
After purchasing the gasoline from the store, Thelus returned to her nearby home, gathered her sons, and doused everyone in gas before setting them ablaze.
“But the kids didn’t ask to be born. I would rather you go to the fire department, drop them off, say you can longer provide for them instead of doing something like that,” said the 7-Eleven clerk.
Thelus’ infant died after suffering 80 percent of burns to his body. She and the toddler are still hospitalized.
“I kind of have PTSD because I feel bad that happened in my store. Everything was provided from my store,” the clerk added.
