New York City news, New York news.

The judge presiding over Donald Trump’s hush money case delayed Tuesday to decide on the fate of the President-elect’s conviction suspending all current deadlines in the case including a scheduled Nov. 26 sentencing.

New York Judge Juan Merchan was set to decide on Tuesday whether the Supreme Court’s recent decision on presidential immunity means that Trump’s conviction must be thrown out.

Both sides requested more time to consider their next step, pausing the current deadlines until Nov. 19.

On May 30, Trump was convicted of 34 felony counts of falsifying business records to cover up payments made to Stormy Daniels ahead of the 2016 presidential election.

“It is now abundantly clear that Americans want an immediate end to the weaponization of our justice system, including this case, which should have never been filed, so we can, as President Trump said in his historic victory speech, unify our country and work together for the betterment of our nation,” Trump campaign spokesperson Steven Cheung said.
