NYC man arrested for throwing pitbull to its death from 14th floor balcony

A New York City man was arrested after he allegedly threw a pitbull to its death from a 14th floor balcony earlier this month.

Alberto Morris, 33, is accused of tossing the dog from the balcony at an apartment complex in Crown Heights on Nov. 1 leading to the dog’s death.

  • The NYPD’s Animal Cruelty Investigation Squad and the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals investigated the “heinous act” and identified the suspect.

    Investigators said Morris was involved in a dispute with other residents at the building when he grabbed his friend’s dog and threw it from the balcony.

    Morris was charged with reckless endangerment, aggravated cruelty to animals, grand larceny, criminal possession of stolen property, criminal mischief and torturing an animal.
