Liberal news media couldn’t hide their frustration and anguish as results rolled in, overwhelmingly in favor of Donald Trump.
MSNBC commentator Joy Reid lost her calm on air when Florida turned out red, admitting that she couldn’t fathom that Trump secured votes from half the population, calling the state’s government an “extremist, right-wing, and fascist-type.”
“Think about the last two weeks and the things that Donald Trump has said into the TV that people could hear him say and do,” she furiously said.
“The vulgarity in front of families with young children and the threats to do mass deportation and a violent start to his dictatorship on day one, you name it.”
Former White House Communications Director Nicole Wallace refused to admit that Kamala Harris was losing the election even after Trump secured two swing states and 230 electoral votes claiming the two candidates were still in a “dead heat.”
CNN political analyst and former Obama official Van Jones was widely mocked on social media for fighting back tears while depicting a grim picture of the future awaiting the US under Trump.
CNN presenter Jake Tapper seemed flabbergasted and stumbled over his words on multiple occasions throughout the night as votes rolled in favor of Trump.
“This is a shellacking for the Democrats tonight,” analyst John King said. “The question is how bad. A shellacking for the vice president.”
