Rapper Cardi B was trolled online after an embarrassing teleprompter incident during her intervention at a Kamala Harris rally Friday.
The ‘WAP’ singer took the stage at the Wisconsin State Fair Park Exposition to publicly endorse Harris for President but found herself in an awkward situation when the teleprompter ceased to function.
Cardi waited for 90 seconds, unable to deliver a speech and asking the crowd for patience, until her assistant brought her cellphone with prepared statements.
“Now I took my time writing my speech, so I wanted to make sure I delivered it right,” Cardi B said as she read the content from her phone.
Social media users were not impressed by the singer’s motives for endorsing Harris after the incident, calling her remarks “fake, staged and controlled.”
“Cardi B’s speech wasn’t loaded into the teleprompter so she oddly stammers for ninety seconds until someone runs her phone out to her!
