Former president Donald Trump shared in a new interview how his wife Melania experienced the terrifying assassination attempt on his life on July 13.

“She was watching. She was watching live. It was all over the place. It was on television,” Trump answered Laura Ingraham’s question about the fateful day.

Trump revealed that Melania is still unable to talk about the horrific event, claiming it a proof that she actually cares for him.

The former first lady believed “the worst had happened” when she saw her husband getting shot and taken down by Secret Service agents, Trump added.

“I just want to say one thing about Secret Service…they were very brave. They were coming. Bullets were flying over me. I went down and they were – they were on top of me. I had a lot of very big, strong people on top of me,” Trump said.
