An Albany, Louisiana mother turned the gun on herself after she fatally shot her husband and an 8-year-old child, police said.
A concerned relative requested a welfare check on the family leading to the discovery of their three lifeless bodies on Monday.
Jenny Williamson, 49, is believed to have killed her 49-year-old husband Steven Williamson, and an 8-year-old child.
Detectives determined that the tragic murder-suicide occurred late Friday or early Saturday.
The juvenile victim was not Williamson’s child but she had custody of that child, Livingston Parish Sheriff Jason Ard said.
“We also have not got any calls from this residence that were violent-related type calls,” the sheriff added.
“We are still in the process of processing this crime scene.”
“This is horrible. This is something you never want to see,” he added.
“This is just a devastating type of situation for anybody. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.”
