Man dead; 2 hurt in electrocution incident at Virginia lake

Authorities in Virginia said that a man has died and two others were hurt on the fourth of July in an electrocution incident at Smith Mountain Lake.

First responders from Smith Mountain Lake Marine Fire and Rescue Department were sent to the Craddock Creek Marina over reports of a drowning.

A man from Colorado was electrocuted when he jumped into the water and two other people were shocked when they jumped to help him.

    A testing of the water confirmed the presence of electricity, officials said.

    The unidentified victim was reportedly visiting the state with his family.

    The Bedford County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death.
