Authorities in New York are actively looking for a 32-year-old woman accused of slashing another woman’s throat killing her earlier this month.
On June 1, a brawl broke out outside an illegal Bronx club after the group of 40 partygoers was kicked out.
Jalessa Richardson was identified as the suspect who slashed Ashley Smith’s throat during the scuffle.
Smith was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center where she succumbed to her injury shortly later.
The victim was a mother of three and an expecting grandmother; she was just days from moving out of a shelter to her own apartment.
“I just can’t understand why everybody else is alive and my daughter’s dead,” her grieving mother said.
“I can’t, I can’t, I can’t understand it. Why is she the only one that’s gone if there were that many people fighting?”
