Biden says he is ‘moving troops’ to Eastern Europe but ‘not too many’ amid Ukraine-Russia tensions

President Biden had revealed in an ambiguous answer to reporters yesterday that he is moving troops to Eastern Europe but “not too many,” he added.

The revelation came following a visit to Pittsburgh where he gave a speech about the infrastructure bill and economy.

  • “I’ll be moving troops to Eastern Europe in the NATO countries in the near term but not too many,” the President said.

    On Tuesday, he had insisted that if American troops were to be sent to Ukraine, it would be a part of NATO’s mutual defense accords.

    US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin had on Friday confirmed that no troops have been moved to the chaotic region so far but said that nearly 8,500 troops were on high alert for possible deployment.
