NYC teen, 16, fatally shot to face while standing with group of people at street corner

A New York City teen was pronounced dead at the scene of a shooting late Friday night when a gunman approached a group of people and fires shots at them.

The 16-year-old victim was shot in the face and died instantly while he stood at the corner of Delancey Street and Suffolk Street at around 8:30 p.m.

Another victim, a 24-year-old man, sustained gunshot wounds to the tight but is expected to survive.

  • “I was in the basement and I heard pop, pop, pop,” an employee at a local business said. “I saw them across the street when they were pumping the body. He looked lifeless.”

    A local resident recalled seeing crowds of people running after hearing the shots.

    “There were lots of people running. Everyone was trying to get out of there,” she said. “When the kid went down, they knew he was dead.”
