3 suicides within 2 days at Fort Drum Army base in New York: ‘We want to know the trigger’

Army officials are probing a mysterious mass suicide wave that claimed the lives of three soldiers within two days at the Fort Drum Army base in New York.

The Army 10th Mountain Division revealed that on Sept 16, 21-year-old Pfc. Tyler Thomas took his own life.

    “Immediately when we have a situation when a soldier is suspected of taking their own life, we want to know the trigger,” Division Commander Maj. Gen. Milford Beagle said.

    “What are the underlying challenges that contributed to the decision to harm themselves?”
