Bloodbath in Aiken, SC: Four family members dead, two wounded in horrific murder-suicide

Aiken authorities are investigating a deadly murder-suicide that saw four people killed and one wounded inside an apartment early Friday.

The incident unfolded at around 1:30 a.m. at the Boundary apartments where gunshots were reported.

Upon Police arrival, a final shot was heard. It was later discovered that 19-year-old Johnathan Andrew Seward killed himself after shooting dead his family members at the apartment.

  • The victims were later identified as parents John Fitzgerald Seward Sr. and Mary Ann Powlas, ages 55 and 50, and a 27-year-old sister, Erica Nicole Seward.

    Two other siblings were shot but survived their injuries and one of them was rushed to an area hospital with critical injuries.

    Anyone with information is urged to contact the Department of Public Safety. A murder-suicide investigation is ongoing.
