A Tennessee man was caught Saturday carrying the lifeless body of his mom wrapped in a tarp while traveling from Nashville to Chattanooga.
Thomas Henshall Jr. is now facing failure to report the discovery of a dead body and evidence tampering in connection with the gruesome finding.
Although he kept changing his claims regarding the circumstances of 60-year-old Danielle Bowen’s death, Henshall insisted his mother had committed suicide.
He said that at about 5:15 p.m. Friday, he picked up the woman from the Nashville Veterans Administration Medical Center and then sat next to her as she shot herself dead.
But an email to his girlfriend recorded Bowen saying that “he’s not accountable for anything. He’s agreed to put me out of my misery.”
The Davison County medical examiner said that Bowen died from a gunshot wound to the head.
In the meantime, Henshall is being held in the Davidson County Jail on an $80,000 bond.
