New Jersey man sets home on fire killing infant daughter, grandparents then sends ‘best wishes’ to baby’s mom

New Jersey authorities have arrested a father accused of setting fire at his home killing an infant and two relatives Friday.

Michael Sanders, 23, was spotted buying incriminating items from a local gas station including a torch lighter and cigars minutes before the house fire.

The fire killed his 9-month-old daughter Malani, and her grandparents, Tiffany Abrams Jones and Prince Jones, ages 42 and 50 respectively.

  • Malani’s mom and another person were seriously burned. The woman had received a text message from Sanders asking her to get the baby out of the doomed house.

    Following the deadly blaze, Sanders reportedly took to Facebook to apologize for his daughter’s death and send best wishes to her mom.

    He was arrested two days later at a Plainsboro motel and charged with murder, aggravated arson, and assault.
