An Arizona woman was mauled to death at her front porch when her neighbor’s Staffordshire terrier-mix dogs sneaked into her property.
The incident occurred at around 7 a.m. Tuesday at the intersection of 6th Street and Broadway Road.
Maria Ruiz, 77, died at a local hospital after the four dogs attacked her. They belonged to Alexander Hernandez, 33, who was arrested and charged with negligent homicide.
According to the Maricopa County Animal Care and Control, Hernandez’s dogs were previously reported to authorities after several attacks on residents.
The man was also told to fix a gate that the pooches used to escape without his knowledge. He also received license warnings.
Hernandez admitted that his dogs were violent and would chase after neighbors.
