News4Jax reporter and Grapevine Show’s panelist Ayesha Faines had died on July 2, 2021. She was aged 35, the channel announced.
Although the outstanding writer’s cause of death remaining unrevealed, Faines’ passing was described as “unexpected.”
“I am here to help women rise, within themselves and the world, by re-defining and reimagining what it means to be feminine and powerful,” she wrote on her website.
Anchor Melanie Lawson remembered working with the fallen journalist, expressing condolences to her family and especially her dad who was so proud of ‘his baby girl.’
“She was so young when she came to News4Jax but very intelligent and mature beyond her years. When she spoke it was like listening to poetry.”
“I was always so proud of her accomplishments after she left the station. Ayesha was also a fierce supporter of women. She never said a disparaging word about any woman so I wasn’t surprised to see her use her voice for women’s rights.”
Her social media followers mourned Ayesha’s passing with many labeling her as their “favorite person on The Grapevine.”
“Such intelligent, beautiful, and well-spoken lady. I’ve learn so much from her and her perspectives. She was a voice for women especially black women and her loss will be felt,” one wrote.
