A Florida woman was arrested on child abuse charges after her boyfriend’s 9-year-old son left a sticky note that triggered an investigation.
It started on March 4 when the boy wrote “please help us” on a pink note leading the Florida Department of Children and Families to start investigating.
Police did not specify where the child left the chilling note, but an interview with the boy shed more light on the abuse he allegedly endured at the hands of 25-year-old Katrina Carrillo.
The boy alleged that Carrillo pinned him to the ground, assaulted him, and placed a pink blanket and pillow over his face to the point that he “was not breathing.”
Carrillo, who denied the allegations, was booked into Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on a felony child abuse charge.
She was reportedly released on a $5,000 bond and asked to stay away from both of her boyfriend’s children.
