Police in Jefferson County, Alabama, are seeking the public’s help to identify a suspect in the murder of a Fairfield man found beaten and stabbed on Pratt Highway Friday afternoon.
Deputies were called to the 1500 block of Pratt Highway just after 2 p.m. and found the victim’s body with significant injuries.

The man, later identified as 53-year-old Demetrius Dwight Broom, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police believe the man was stabbed and beaten to death during an apparent assault. No suspects have been named in connection with the case.
