An Ohio man was arrested after he allegedly called 911 and confessed to killing his father, police said.
“I’m not going to lie. I just killed my father,” Micaiah Swindler allegedly told dispatchers.
Police had been to the suspect’s home earlier in the day after he and his father, 59-year-old Joe Swindler, had fought over doing the dishes.
“God. God told me to,” the son answered when asked about his motive for the crime.
The pair’s neighbor watched as officers apprehended Micaiah Swindler, who appeared calm and cooperative.
“The boy just walked out and gave himself up to him,” the neighbor described. “They put him in handcuffs; put him in the car, and that was it.”
The neighbor said the father had lived in Meadowlark Lane for almost two decades and worked at Honda.
“He was quiet. He took care of his yard. He didn’t come over and visit or anything. We waved to him, he waved back. That’s about it.”
