Worker crushed to death underneath concrete dump truck in Kentucky

A northern Kentucky worker was crushed to death Wednesday while working in a residential neighborhood in Union.

The 28-year-old victim was working on a hydraulic line when it blew, and he was crushed by the dump truck bed.

“It’s a traumatic injury. Contractors were bringing in concrete and the rear of the concrete truck crushed him, back of the concrete,” the dispatcher described.

    When fire crews managed to free the man from the truck, they couldn’t save him, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

    The Boone County Coroner identified the victim as James McSwiney. His death is being investigated as a tragic accident.
