3 injured in shooting at Florida car dealership

A shooting at a Miami-Dade car dealership left three people injured on Thursday afternoon, police said.

A gunman wearing a face mask opened fire with a rifle at the warehouse area of the business.

Three people, including the shooter, were taken to HCA Florida Kendall Hospital for treatment.

Footage from the chaotic scene showed people running for their lives and a person lying motionless on the ground.

  • “I pulled over, thinking it was just an accident,” a witness recalled.

    “Then I saw officers suiting up with tactical gear and armor, so I quickly parked across the street.”

    Police said there was no ongoing threat to the public but asked people to avoid the area.

    “This is still active and you could stay out of this area we would really appreciate it,” Sheriff Rosie Cordero-Stutz said.
