Three brothers were among the four victims killed when their SUV lost control and slammed into a corner store in Waterbury, Connecticut, early Thursday.
Officers were on Cherry Street at 12:45 a.m. after a BMW sedan crashed into the Hernandez Market, causing a partial collapse of the building.
Investigators said the vehicle was traveling down Baldwin Street into Cherry Street when it lost control and smashed into the store.
All four occupants of the BMW perished in the crash. They were identified as brothers Nelson Torres, 25; Kayden Torres, 20; Noel Torres, 15; and 20-year-old Johnaven Puszka.
Police said that no one was inside the store when the crash occurred.
Neighbor Silvia Arroyo recorded the immediate aftermath of the deadly collision.
“It was very scary, woke up this morning and started crying,” she said.
“Slow down. Because not only are you taking your life, you’re also taking other people’s lives, too,” added resident Detriss Dawkins.
