Three Massachusetts high school seniors were killed in a crash late Monday while celebrating spring break in Florida.
Jimmy McIntosh, 18, was driving the SUV that hit a tractor-trailer making a U-turn on Highway 98. He and passengers Hannah Wasserman and Maisey O’Donnell perished in the crash.
A fourth passenger was listed in critical condition. The tractor’s driver, 19, was unharmed.
O’Donnell was the state diving champion for women and aspired to compete in the USA and the Amateur Athletic Union National events.
“The kids looked up to her. The other divers looked up to her,” her coach Joe Chirico said.
“It’s a tragedy that somebody at the top of their game, going to the best academic school, one of the best divers in the nation, has cut so short.”
