Single car crash claims lives of 4 California high school students

Authorities in Marin County, California, said that four high school students were killed and two others were hurt in a single car crash late Friday.

The students’ Volkswagen SUV crashed on westbound San Geronimo Valley Road just before 7:30 p.m., the California Highway Patrol said.

Three of the car occupants died at the scene. The three others were rushed to the hospital, where one succumbed to their injuries.

  • All six victims were students at Archie Williams High School, the Tamalpais Union High School District confirmed.

    “Last night, we learned that six Archie Williams students were involved in a severe car accident. We are devastated to share that four students died and two are in critical condition,” the district said.

    “At this time, we are unable to confirm the identities of the students involved. We are working with the County to set up grief and counseling support for Archie students and staff.”
