Virginia high school student brutally stabs classmate, 16, during bloody brawl

A student is hospitalized and another is behind bars after their confrontation ended in a bloody scene at West Potomac High School Wednesday morning.

Three students got into a fight at around 9:40 a.m. The scuffle quickly escalated, resulting in a 15-year-old stabbing a 16-year-old classmate, Fairfax County Police said.

The victim left behind a trail of blood along the hallway as he was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

“The good news is that the stabber, the perpetrator, the assailant, is in custody,” Police Chief Kevin Davis said.

    Chilling footage of the fight showed a teen in a red shirt relentlessly punching another in a black shirt before a third student intervened, trying to break up the fight.

    The teen in red took off after the classmate who intervened and chased him through the hallway. The teen in black jumped back into the fight after getting off the floor.

    Shortly later, the boy in red could be seen lying on the ground, motionless and bleeding profusely as a terrified teacher tended to him.

    Chief Davis said the investigation remains “very active” and that a third person was being questioned.
