Houston news, Texas news.

A Houston suburban resident made a grisly discovery early Saturday morning after getting annoyed by dogs’ continuous barking in the middle of the night.

The man told the Houston Police Department detectives that he went investigating the barking at around 3:30 a.m. when he spotted a man’s body lying face down in a ditch.

“Other than the strange position of the body and the location, we’re not seeing any major signs of foul play right now,” Police Lt. R. Willkens said.

“Our medical examiner is going to come, retrieve the body, see if they do find evidence of foul play. Or if maybe it was a heart attack or stroke or maybe possible he got hit by a car. We don’t know.”

It remains unclear for how long the man’s body had been submerged in the ditch. His age and identity are being determined.
