12-year-old boy plunges to death from 15-story Manhattan apartment complex

A New York City boy has passed away after jumping from the roof of a 15-story Upper East Side apartment complex Tuesday afternoon.

The unidentified 12-year-old landed on top of a car parked outside the building at 1045 Park Avenue near East 86th Street in Manhattan.

  • At around 3:45 p.m., First responders rushed to the scene and transported the boy to local Lenox Hill Hospital where he was declared dead.

    “Upon arrival, officers observed an unconscious and unresponsive male on top of a vehicle with body trauma,” the NYPD said.

    “EMS responded and transported the male to Lenox Hill Hospital in critical condition, where he was later pronounced deceased. The Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death.”
