Twitter stopped threatening hashtag against Vice President Mike Pence

A threatening phrase against Vice President Mike Pence has been blocked on Twitter after it became a trend late Friday.

The phrase has been chanted by MAGA crowds during Wednesday’s riots after Pence declined to overturn the Electoral College Votes for Trump.

  • “We blocked the phrase and other variations of it from trending,” the company said in a statement. “We want trends to promote healthy discussions on Twitter.”

    “This means that at times, we may prevent certain content from trending. As per our Help Center, there are Rules for trends – if we identify accounts that violate these rules, we’ll take enforcement action.”

    A reporter tweeted a screenshot of the trend before it was removed showing that it had been tweeted more than 14,000 times but mostly while quoting the “insurrectionists.”
