Former Attorney General William Barr said in a Thursday statement that President Trump is to blame for the Capitol breach and that his behavior amid the unrest was “a betrayal of his office.”

Barr added that Trump helped “orchestrating a mob to pressure Congress” and that was “inexcusable.”

As the rioters stormed the Capitol Building, Trump tweeted “We love you; you’re special, go home now” and in the aftermath, blamed those who “stole” the elections for the violence.
