Chicago news, Illinois news.

Illinois Representative Adam Kinzinger became the first GOP lawmaker to call the President’s cabinet to use the 25th Amendment to remove Trump from office following Wednesday events.

“Sadly, yesterday it became evident that not only has the president abdicated his duty to protect the American people and the people’s House, he invoked and inflamed passions that only gave fuel to the insurrection that we saw here,” Kinzinger said in a video.

“It’s time to invoke the 25th Amendment and to end this nightmare.”

“All indications are that the president has become unmoored, not just from his duty, or even his own, but from reality itself.”

The lawmaker concluded his statement asking for the 25th Amendment to be invoked to oust Trump from the Executive Branch.
